Skopje, 26 November 2011 (MIA) – Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Education Minister Pance Kralev and Health Minister Nikola Todorov Saturday attended the promotion of three new laboratories installed in the Clinic of Children's Diseases in Skopje. The laboratories are intended for motility disorders of gastrointestinal tract, digestive endoscopy of children, diabetes and metabolic screening. Gruevski said that it is high-tech equipment for early disease detection in children worth EUR 1.2 million. It enables on time treatment or preventing heavy disease consequences, which cannot be cured. All three laboratories make precise diagnosis in different types of health disorders in newborn and smaller children, help in early detection, regulation and treatment if detected in early stage, Gruevski said. Additional tender for purchase of other medial apparatuses has been announced for this clinic, so the total investment for its equipment will surpass EUR 2 million. This will cover 99% of the needs for equipment in this clinic and in the future we will have fully-equipped Clinic of Children's Diseases, which serves not Skopje but also entire Macedonia for difficult cases. This is the only clinic in the country of tertiary health care, Gruevski said. Gruevski announced the new Government measure which will be beneficial for this clinic. Half of the income for medicaments registration will be intended for equipping the clinic in the future. The prices for medicaments registration will be reduced for approximately 20% and 80% for homeopathic and herbal medicaments. Health Minister Nikola Todorov said that trained personnel will work in the laboratories of the children’s clinic. Additional equipment announced at the new tender will be purchased and the clinic will have new apparatuses. The equipment is worth EUR 700.000 and will be used at all departments in the clinic. Three new laboratories are part of the large government project for purchase of 198 modern equipped laboratories. |

PM Gruevski announces construction of new clinical center in Skopje
Skopje, 17 February 2012 (MIA) - Premier Nikola Gruevski announced Friday that a new clinical center would be built. The new facility will be located in the center of the already existing clinical center extending on an area of 50.000 square meters. Most of the existing clinics are planned to be moved there. An announcement for a project will be issued in April. Construction works are expected to start within a year. "Several hospitals, clinics and public health institutions across the country are being reconstructed and additional medical equipment should be procured. The clinical center in Skopje will be subjected to a major investment. According to estimations, reconstruction of remaining facilities will cost as much as to build a new, extensive facility," stated Gruevski who was accompanied by Health Minister Nikola Todorov at a ceremony for promotion of two new instruments - Euro 1.4-million angiogram and Euro 1.6-million magnetic resonance (MRI) at the Radiology Clinic. Construction works should be launched in mid-2013 and are expected to be completed in two years' time at least. "Funds for the construction are expected to be provided by the Council of Europe's Development Bank," PM Gruevski said. The Radiology Clinic has been equipped with two state-of-the-art instruments. "In recent years, 5.1 million euros have been invested for modern equipment in the clinic, thus providing excellent conditions for patients from all over Macedonia," the PM noted. The instruments are part of the project for procurement of medical equipment in amount of approximately 100 million euros. |
