Thank you Levanix for this thread information. It is also nice to know that all Russian forumers aren't nationalists. I wonder why many people don't understand that criticizing your country don't make you unpatriotic, I would say that it is the opposite.

Well if we put the current crisis on the side I think it is undeniable that Belarus has the higher quality of live on average, especially in provincial towns, than Russia, especially when you put things into perspective and think about how richer Russia is and how it doesn't translate into a far better life for Russian citizens. Russians envy Belarusian roads which is so funny because I guess materials they are built of, like asphalt, are purchased in Russia and in Russia the first real European like highway only began construction between Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Now Belarus might seem less democratic but in Russia elections are a farce anyway so I guess the system in Belarus is at least more honest
And Belarusians shouldn't expect to become Germany or Sweden the moment they remove Lukashenko, because they could easily either get a new KGB guy (like Lukashenko or Putin) for another 20 years or descend into chaos like Ukraine which was left in the open by the west. It's a risky road and Belarus should tread carefully and not do anything unless the situation arises like it did for Poland or Baltic states which had an enormous support from the west which is completely gone today for Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia or any other country on the teeter. Because there is little point in removing Lukashenko if the EU and the US is going to slam the door in your face after that (not before of course) like it happened with Ukraine. Then it might end up with Lukashenko back in power like an unimaginable thing happened in Ukraine where Yanukovych who tried to rig the previous election actually won the next one! I don't see an easy way out for Belarus so it should definitely wait for the right moment. And I wont comment that Lukashenko speech Lol so philosophical

Belarus is so lucky, territory of the country is quite small, this is big advantage, cause if country is small, it's very easy to control it, this is why people live much, much better than in most Russian regions, and roads cost cheaper than in Russia(so this is the reason why But now Belarus is having some fail with their half-administrative-command economy But difference between Russians and Belarussian, is that they really love labour, and if Luka resigns or something extraordinary will happen, people wont die, cause they have lots of food supplies and not only.....
