Also today, but in Spain:
Lleida Southern bypass, part of C-13. 8.5 km. The road already existed between LL-12 and N-240, now it has been duplicated. From there to LL-11 is a new roadway. A new road linking back to C-13 near Vilanova de la Barca is planned.

Tottori Expressway, Japan

23 March, 2013

The remaining 8 kilometers of the Tottori Expressway in western Japan opened to traffic. This completes the expressway, however a substantial portion does not have expressway status, but is numbered as National Highway 373, but it is entirely grade-separated. The new segment includes 8 tunnels, the longest is 998 meters long.

The entire Tottori Expressway has 1 lane in each direction. The speed limit is 60 km/h on the Route 373 segment and 70 km/h elsewhere. The traffic volumes in 2010 were only 3000 - 4000 vehicles per day, except in the immediate vicinity of Tottori where up to 11 000 vehicles per day are recorded.

Route 6 - Hanshin Expressway, Japan

21 March, 2013

Probably the shortest opening in a long time, a 200 meter stretch of expressway opened to traffic in the south of Osaka. It's the first 200 meters of the new Route 6 expressway at the Route 14 interchange and Miyakenishi. The rest of the expressway, which forms an east-west route through southern Osaka, will open in 2014.
