December 31: 纳黔高速纳叙段 Naxi–Xuyong section of Naqian Expressway (part of G76); Length: 73 km

China has opened 11,000 km of expressways in 2011. By the end of this year, the total length has increased to 85,000 km.

Too bad it is not planned to have a full freeway-freeway connection at I-90/94

although one could likely be engineered without much difficulty if it ever becomes necessary.

I'll post it here too - a roundup of 2011 completed (and opened) motorway projects in Romania:

(A1) Arad-Timisoara - 32.25 km
(A1) Arad bypass - 12.25 km (half profile)
(A2) Murfatlar-Constanta - 14.5 km
(A4) Constanta by-pass - 11 km

Total: 58.75 (if we don't count the half-profile) or 64 km (if we count the half profile)
