I clarified it in the first post (originally made by Verso).

Two-lane expressways (super twos) only if they are part of the main (national) network, such as the Polish droga ekspresowa, Mexican supercarretera or Japanese super-two expressways.

Libramiento de Tlaxcala, Mexico

26 March 2015

The final segment of the 'Libramiento de Tlaxcala' (Tlaxcala Bypass) opened to traffic in Mexico. The bypass is a four-lane autopista around the southern side of Tlaxcala, the capital of the small state of Tlaxcala. The newly opened segment is 4.5 km long.

E35 Paso lateral de Latacunga-Salcedo, Ecuador

26 March 2015

A 27 kilometer new six-lane autopista called the paso lateral de Latacunga-Salcedo opened to traffic in Ecuador. It bypasses the city of Latacunga, located 80 kilometers south of Quito. It is considered the first true super autopista of Ecuador.

Minami-Kyushu Expressway, Japan

29 March 2015

A 4 kilometer segment of the Minami-Kyushu Expressway (South Kyushu Expressway) opened to traffic between Akune-kita (north) IC and Akune IC. It is along the middle part of the under construction Minami-Kyushu Expressway.

Doto Expressway, Japan

29 March 2015

A 26 kilometer extension of the super two Doto Expressway opened to traffic on Hokkaido. The newly opened section runs from Urahoro IC to Shiranuka IC. It runs through sparsely populated and mountainous terrain.

Ken-O Expressway, Japan

29 March 2015

Another segment of the Ken-O Expressway, the outer beltway of Tokyo, opened to traffic. It's a 20 kilometer segment between Kuki Shiraoka JCT (Tohoku Expwy) and Sakai Koga IC. This is north of Tokyo.

223 out of 282 kilometers of Ken-O Expressway are now operational.

Autovia GI-632 between Antzuola and Zumarraga (2,6 km) opened to traffic few days ago in the Basque Country autonomous community.

The missing link of A-12 opened to traffic in Spain today. It is the 2.5 kilometer segment across the Río Ebro, that connects Navarra with La Rioja, just east of Logroño.

30 March 2015

12 kilometers of A-15 opened to traffic today in Soria province. It runs from Medinaceli to Radona and replaces the N-111 as the main route from Madrid to Soria. A single kilometer to A-2 is still not completed and is planned to open later this year.

At 3 p.m. a 24 kilometer segment of autovía opened to traffic between Guntín and A-6 near Lugo in Galicia. It includes a tall bridge across a valley south of Lugo.

At 6 p.m. a missing link of A-7, with a length of 7 kilometers opened to traffic in Granada province. It runs from the A-44 interchange to near Motril, also known as La Gorgoracha - Puntalón.

This leaves just one missing link of A-7 along the south coast of Andalusia.

The first 8 kilometers of the 'Circunvalación Exterior de Granada' (future A-44) opened to traffic between Calicasas and N-432 near Atarfe. It is 8 kilometers long. This segment has cost € 118 million, which is significantly more expensive than an average autovía in Spain.

The Aranda de Duero bypass, part of A-11 opened to traffic today. It is a 13.7 kilometer stretch of autovía with four lanes from Fresnillo de las Dueñas to Castrillo de la Vega. It includes a full interchange with A-1. The construction has cost € 68.6 million, or € 5 million per kilometer.

A freeway interchange opened to traffic in South Texas today. It is basically a mile long stretch of four-lane freeway that passes over the FM 1694 interchange between Corpus Christi and Robstown.

SH 249, Houston, USA

A six mile (10 km) segment of the Tomball Parkway (State Highway 249) opens to traffic at 6 p.m. today. It runs in northwestern Harris County (Houston, Texas) from the Spring-Cypress Road to Waller-Tomball Road (FM 2920). It is a six-lane toll road. The frontage roads remain untolled. The new toll road was built in the median of the existing frontage roads. The toll road is operated by HCTRA. Further plans call for an extension into Montgomery County.

SR-58, Bakersfield, USA

April 15, 2015

The last 2.5 miles of the 'Westside Parkway' (State Route 58) opens to traffic in Bakersfield, California today. It runs from Allen Road to Stockdale Highway. The Westside Parkway is the first new freeway in Bakersfield since 1976 and provides a fast east-west route through the western part of the city.

Libramiento Oriente de Chihuahua, Mexico

The eastern bypass of Chihuahua (Libramiento Oriente de Chihuahua) opened to traffic in northern Mexico. It is a 42.3 kilometer long super two (supercarretera) that bypasses the city of Chihuahua, reducing travel time to only 25 minutes. The new express road is fully grade-separated and has only two intermediate interchanges.

An 11.2 kilometer extension of autocesta A11 opened to traffic in Croatia this morning at 7.30 a.m. It runs from Buševec to Lekenik, which are just southeast of Zagreb. It is a toll road. The construction cost was 700 million HRK / € 92 million.
