NEW YORK | 160 West 62nd Street | 195m | 640ft | 53 fl | Com

http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2006/0...2nd_street.php

Quote:
The new tower is going to be one of the tallest on the Upper West Side, rising just shy of 600 feet to the top floor (597.93 feet, to be exact), with any architectural element likely to take the total height to approximately 650 feet. The tower will also have 339 apartments, as well as a small commercial component--Douglaston's site notes the tower will include a high-end restaurant. The only renderings that have been released may be outdated, however they give a good idea as to the likely massing of the new tower--

& the building permits:

The site is getting incredibly busy, especially with the law school/dorm next door. Hopefully some new renders come out as it starts to rise!

Went looking for this today and didn't see it.

All I saw was the Fordham construction:

Didn't see any other cranes or construction there. So this thread may be wrong.

I think this thread is a scam too. I'll list it as a proposed project for now.

Actually, the building permit linked to looks authentic.

Part of why maybe I didn't see it was the Big Apple Circus was in the way of things so I didn't look carefully.

But no cranes yet for sure.

That's rather rude. It isn't a scam, it's under construction. He didn't take photos of the corner of 62nd and Amsterdam, where there is very clearly a sidewalk shed & excavation equipment on-site. Why would it be a scam if there are permits?

& RW: Glenwood did purchase the site.

The tower crane is for the 22 story Fordham Law School and dormitories. The Glenwood tower at 160 W. 62nd St. has yet to rise. The DOB permit was issued Nov. 10. so it looks imminent at any rate.

I finally got around to the site again--look above the pickup and you can see the excavation equipment poking above the fence, and the noise was certainly indicative of activity going on...
