The thing is, on the render it looks like the tower will actually be outside the city rather than inside it. There's only trees around it, almost no other buildings. So unless those two domes or that fountain to the right are recognizable, it will be hard to determine where the site is.

The structural design must be safe and reliable sophisticated structure, w/ the state of the art building technology ...since the area isn’t a stranger to earthquakes

http://www.broadwaymalyan.com/2011/1...-tallest-tower

The official site has changed the title to 'world's third tallest tower'. That means they will have to beat out Shanghai Tower in terms of top-up time, and ST is already well under way. I don't really see that happening, but at least they're ambitious about it.

In other news, the formal address of this building is:
Broadway Malyan
Büyükdere Cad No:193
Levent 193 Plaza – Kat:2
34394 Levent
Istanbul
Turkey
Tel: 0090 (0) 212 371 4676

Levent is on the west side of the straight, so this will definitely be Europe's tallest building if completed on schedule.

maybe because Turkey has similar growth number to China... We are not effected by the euro crisis yet, nor by the political crisis in the mideast.

Thats just the address of the office. There is definitely not enough space in Istanbul CBD for this building. Also there is no lake in Levent and property is to expensive for an artificial lake.

I did find it a bit odd that it would be in the CBD given how it looks on the picture. Alright, so the location of the tower is still up in the air.

When I check the branch offices of Broadway Malyan, you can't see any İstanbul office on the web. Are you sure about the above address, which you write Levent / İstanbul.

They always take the current situation and never the date it is actually finished. Probably a mix of marketing talk and journalist who don't know anything about skyscrapers.
