The Hotel will not be attached to the Terminal. If you take a drive up to SFO North and take the SFO exit toward the Internatioal Terminal, the area they are talking about is right next to the ramp and on the otherside is the acess road. ( I wish I knew how to post a pic). the only way to get to the Hotel will be by shuttle bus, less convenient, IMO, or if they extend a dedicated Air Train that is destined for the Hotel. They already do this with the lines they have now. One, I think blue line, goes to the rental car center while the Red line goes around the airport.

I can teach you how to post a pic: use the tag [ IMG ][ /IMG ] and watch the image come to life. (Note: take off the spaces)

To follow up on the proposed Hotel, I heard today the airport is in discussions with Hilton Hotel as the operator. Hilton had a Hotel at SFO before being demolished to make way for the new International Terminal.

What's the full link of the picture? I will set it up for you.

As for the hotel tenant, ooooh Hilton will run the SFO Airport hotel... Will it be a full-blown Hilton hotel or will it be named under one of its concessionaires (Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Express, or other)?

My recent photos from SFO:

And one of Virgin America's famous babies... "San Francisco Giants", with the beard on the nose!

I see. That's a great location since the hotel or SFO Airport can connect the hotel directly to Parking Area A station of the AirTrain, which can greatly help passengers needing to stay overnight at the airport. Add to that the AirTrain operating 24/7, and it is a winning solution indeed to helping make SFO a more accommodating place to be in, especially when flight delays or cancelations occur.

It will take time to replace T1. Terminal 2 has been entirely renovated, and SFO Airport is focused on renovating T3 at the moment since it will host to AC and US soon to house an entire Star Alliance terminal.

Thanks, my friend! Well, SFO is a major international hub with flights to at least 40 international cities, and it is a hub for United Airlines and Virgin America. There are two other international airports that serve the San Francisco Bay Area: Oakland International Airport (my collection) and San Jose International Airport, and both of them have international flights as well, on top of regular domestic hops.

SFO to borrow $4 billion for upgrades

By Joshua Melvin [email protected]

Updated: 05/21/2013 07:21:57 AM PDT

San Francisco International Airport's leaders announced Monday they plan to borrow more than $4 billion to pay for a 10-year building and renovation plan that includes a proposed 400-room hotel.

Airport Director John Martin said the idea is to create a "world-class" experience in two domestic terminals as well as carry out "improvements" on the just over 10-year-old international terminal. He estimated the cost at $4.1 billion.

The spending is intended to bring the rest of the airport in line with the $383 million makeover of Terminal 2 which opened in April 2011. That terminal features California-living touches such as a yoga room, a wine bar and a restaurant that uses only local, organic ingredients.
