Prachtig! Ziet er veel beter uit dan die ouwe dubbeldekkers! Weet iemand waarom die niet direct besteld zijn eigenlijk?
Nu nog nog de nieuwe GEN-treinen... wordt waarschijnlijk 2012 of zo! Waarom is die foto in Aachen genomen, worden die treinen niet in Brugge gemaakt? |

Op de VRT zei men dat de regering binen 2 weken zal beslissen over de aankoop van nieuwe treinstellen voor het GEN. Dat wordt spannend. |

Die ouwe treinen kan me niet zoveel schelen maar die nieuwe vind ik echt schandalig |

Ik heb deze al regelmatig zien staan bij Bombardier in Brugge ook, wist niet dat ze al reden.

After a very long period and several attempts to define the new modern electric locomotive for the Belgian railways, the SNCB/NMBS finally made a decision at the end of 2006. After two rounds Siemens was awarded with the order 0f 211 million Euro for 60 multi tension locomotives, with an option for an additional 60 machines, of which the latter 40 can be delivered as 4/tesnion locomotives. First machines will be delivered in 2009 and by delivery homologated for services in Belgium, including the new high speed lines, France and border track sections in Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Germany. This means they will be equipped with TBL1, TBL1+, TBL2 (Belgium) , MEMOR , ETCS 1 (Luxembourg) , KVB (France) und ATB-EG (Netherlands). GSM-R is also needed to visit Aachen Hbf. This new series have always been referenced to as 'Reeks 14' but will be numberd as Reeks 18. The machines are, like the LE4700 series for the Portuguese series based on the newest version of the EuroSprinter platform, introduced with the OBB 1216 series, but with the newest cab design meeting the newest safety norm EN 15 227. .

With its modernization program Infrabel is aiming to improve the reliability and on-time performance of the Belgian railway services. Order processing will be carried out by the joint venture Belgosignal, which has been established by Siemens Belgium and Alstom Belgium and will channel all the know-how acquired since the 1990s into the modernization of signaling equipment for the Belgian railways. Over the next five years Siemens will supply high-availability and multiply redundant computers for the operations control system, the corresponding power supply and optical control panels (i.e. large displays) and also perform the commissioning and the service work for the complete IT equipment. Siemens Transportation Systems Belgium has been building up know-how in operations control technology since 1993 and has meanwhile invested more than 250,000 R&D manhours in this field. |

Nee, das geen diesel. Da's een een stuurstandsrijtuig. De locomotief zit langs de andere kant van de trein. In dit geval is de loc altijd electrisch. Ik weet niet of het technisch mogelijk is diesellocs te gebruiken. In alle geval wordt het niet gedaan bij deze rijtuigen.
