Types of Architcture?

I am brand-new I this forum but have expressed this really random interest in architecture (well, it may not be so random—I've wanted to be an imagineer for years).
I've heard people talk about art-deco and neo-classical and gothic architecture (among others).
What do these mean and why are examples?
I know the Chrysler Building in NYC is art deco but that's all I know

haha elculo, that's not a bad place to start.

To be a bit more specific, this was one of the most helpful sites for me when I was just starting to learn about architectural styles.
