Detailed Map of T1

* I remind you that now T1 is the name of the new terminal (divided in 2 piers) and T2 is the name of the Puente Aéreo, to become regional/low cost terminal.

The details are in spanish but I think's it's easy to understand. Anyway, if there's something you don't understand, please ask .

http://www.eldorado.aero/t2/

Some things I take out of this map:

* There are 7 stores to be opened soon, including a sushi restaurant in the food court, a café near the duty free area and a casino.

* There are 4 stores still empty, all located in the arrivals area. Ideal for money exchange, car rentals, tourist information,... (all of which already have places all around the airport).

* We can see the location of LAN's lounge, soon to become a OneWorld lounge that will replace the Admirals Club that closed some time ago.

* With the opening of 10 new boarding gates in october, 126 new stores will open: 100 in the departures area, 14 in the arrivals area and 12 more in the fourth floor (food court). Besides,17 new bathrooms will become available as well as a VIP Avianca Lounge for national flights.

* Expected in march 2014, the final 14 boarding gates will become operational. Avianca's national flights will move to the south pier of T1, Copa's and LAN's domestic flights will operate on the remaining 9 boarding gates in the north pier (5 of those are swing gates, so international flight can use them too).

Domestic airlines Easyfly, Satena and VivaColombia will move to T2 at that time.

First, some pictures brought to us from Flickr by user *Feleru (some are very big pictures )

What you see in the pictures is the national side of the new terminal, to be operational partially next October and fully operational by June 2014.

I assume Avianca's Domestic operations will eventually be moving in the new airport when it's ready then? Here are some photos while I was in transit.

Yes when the national terminal is complete, around April 2014 IIRC

No, the national terminal has been said to be inaugurated in October, 6 months before schedule. This has been one of the most efficiently built infraestructures in Colombia.

Yes but it won't be completed, the inner side will remain closed until the old terminal is demolished because they can't work on the inner side with the old terminal still in it's place.

They can work in the external arms bridges. They can´t work in the inner part of the arms because of the old temrinal. Avianca can work in The new national terminal in october by using the external bridges of the arms.

They can't work along side with Copa and LAN in half the terminal, and even if they could it's irrelevant as Avianca, and Opain if I remember correctly, already said that they won't move into the new terminal until it's fully operational.

As far I know, the external bridges can be used for domestic flights but only for Copa and LAN Colombia. Avianca won't transfer its domestic operations to their new spot until the new terminal is fully operational. Of course, everything i said here can be changed at the last minute after OPAIN and the airlines works the kinks of the logistic and stuff.

Just to be clear:

* Next october the airport will enable 9 or 10 new jetways to be used by Copa and LAN for domestic flights only. Six jetways on the south pier and 3 or 4 in the north pier.

* Avianca will not be using any of these new jetways from october. It's domestic operations will remain in the Puente Aéreo.

* Avianca will start domestic flights operations in the new terminal in the third trimester of 2014, when all remaining jetways become operational. It has been said that all of the airline's domestic operations will be handled in the south pier's 13 jetway bridges. This will be confirmed soon.

* It's rumoured that the remaining jetways will be used by LAN and Copa pending on need. Among those are 5 "mixed" jetways (for both domestic and international flights).

* Other airlines will probably use the new jetways randomly. Remote stands will become the "hub" of Viva Colombia, Satena and Easyfly. After mid 2014, they will start operating from the Puente Aéreo, thus becoming T2 / Regional (Low Cost) Terminal.
