The Kingdom Tower is essentially a Burj Khalifa with a taller spire so both of these buildings have apparently already reached the maximal roof height limit. I'd estimate that the maximal pinnacle height limit might be at about 1100 meters or 1200 meters. This proposed tower would have 1750 meter pinnacle height and about 1600 meters roof height. This impossible in the forseeable future. Burj Khalifa and the Kingdom Tower have already traded everything they could for height and they are about half as tall as this tower so I stand by my opinion that this proposal is ridiculous
Okay i agree with you in that even me i know this thing is 90 % is going to bullshit but it might have a chance who knows and please you don't know Sudan so you might visit the Sudanese forum before you just say anything there are poorer countries then Sudan but i am not saying that we are rich and i am not lying and saying oh Sudan is not poor get it!!! no hard feelings man

Well, if it is privately funded, I suppose it is possible, though it seems completely rediculous. The Burj hasn't even filled its office space- so how do you think that this would fare?
That being said, if they want a cool looking tall obelisk in the desert, then build it.

damn, they're really crazy ....1750m sounds unbelievable.

but atm i can't imagine it will get build, at least not with that height.

and the design...not my taste. it has something from Bionic Tower, but with that weird facade it's ugly IMO

I'm sorry if I have offended you, it was not my intention. I only tried to express my opinion on how unrealistic this project is, nothing more

Remember guys, this is only proposed!

Maybe 20 - 30 years from now they might be able to build a tower of this size.

There is more chance of me being able to pull an elephant out of my arse than this project taking place!

This thread is hilarious!

Is this for real? This would make a really good April Fools joke!

On the other page someone said it's 200km away from jeddah, so probably not.

Very nice for Sudan. It will be a nice second tallest building in the world, after the Dutch mountain.

Well, it's at least surprising (and hard to believe).

They had a famine there just a little over 10 years ago and according to the UN half of Sudan's population still lives under the poverty line..

Talk about having your priorities completely mixed up

It's not necessary to be rich to have the tallest building in a certain place (state, country, world etc). Even a poor and underdeveloped economy can plan something.

For example where I live (Brazil), a city (Joao Pessoa) that is not even among the 50 richest of my country will have the country's largest skyscraper, the Tour Geneve, over 620 feet.

There are at least 51 towns with an economy larger than Joao Pessoa in Brazil, and none of them will have a skyscraper so high.
