i think its the priority project of the city government..mahirap kasi ang airport ng zambo nasa loob ng 6 km radius ng city proper..

I'm talking about the magnitude of the airport, re: to consist of 5 terminal buildings...it might be a long shot before we see it coming.

Huh? What's your source? AFAIK, the new "design mantra" for airports nowadays is: "The less the number of aircraft terminals, the better."

I mean, large air hubs like the Hong Kong International Airport, the Singapore-Changi International Airport, the Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi International Airport, and the Beijing-Capital International Airport have fewer than five terminals each.

Having five terminals is just plain stupid in todays "design mantra" for airports when you can have one uber-huge and ultra-modern terminal.

that would be a good sign for Zamboanga..may cruise ship terminal na tau with the opening of that Freeport..

It would be neat if the new Airport of Zamboanga will still look like this one, retaining the prevailing main design, but has modern features and facilities.

It would have 3-5 jet bridges. I hope the new ZIA would have a two storey terminal airport, with a large apron, just like NAIA terminal 2, the first floor is for the arrival are and the second floor is for the departure area. Within the Departure and Arrival area there are TV screens (maybe LCDs) showcasing tourist spots and places to visit in Zamboanga, like the WOW! Philippines Music Videos by Regine.

The main aspect of the design is still the same, instead of using wood or brick the contractors use glass and steel.

the design of zamboanga airport is truly reflective of the diverseness of the city..

wala pa... cguro the if they will build a new terminal for ZIA the terminal will be the same as the ZIA terminal now but with class already...

yup... according to them, the new ZIA will be build at the SACOL island, then another says daw sa MERCEDES... there is already a plan... pero wala pang fund para d2...

Pero sa tingin ko..much efficient kung ang Airport is in Sacol..kai 1. It will bring development sa eastern barangays 2. Malayo xa sa urbanized part ng city

mas okay pag siacol island ang airport... it will promote great tourist dahil maganda ang facilities and parang magiging tulad din ng mactan island sa cebu.. mga 5 star Hotels and resort mag i-invest sa siacol....

i hope that the zamboanga city government will materialize all their plans. i may tolerate delays of projects construction but definitely not into fading its projects into complete oblivion. if that happens, i would be cursing the culprit. hehehe

as long celso lobregat is the mayor of zamboanga he will never get the funding to build a new airport because the president arroyo dont like him. if the liberal party wins in 2010 zamboanga will have the best chance of getting the airport project going
