Your traffic fines in 2011

1: 15€ for no-parking zone - it was clear that the police will make a stroll there but it was urgent and the last free place
2: 0,55€ postage for [email protected] - i've seen the speedcam placed around 300m before on the other roadside, but it was on of the new one which can monitor both directions with one sensor. Result: covered face on the foto and a unknown driver

But I got a warning from a police officer from going 68 in a 50km per hour zone

About 15k km 2011 - no fines;
about 35k km 2010 - only €20 for illegal parking on a sidewalk (although I thought it was unfair, as I had obeyed the law to leave 2m free for pedestrians, but it was on the side of a park and the municipality had some additional special rules there/I was rushing for a Sofia Rocks Festival concert of Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer & Metallica... or it was the other day with Stonesour, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Manowar and Rammstein?).

I've been driving for 7 years. I've received my first fine in September, and the second one in October 2011, both for speeding.

The first was on main road 1, I drove with 82 km/h at a 60 sign (outside city limits...), and the second was in Budapest, 68 km/h instead of 50. Each of them cost 30 000 HUF (~ €100), so I'm 60 000 HUF lighter now for threatening traffic safety.

In Hungary this is a form of taxation. No matter who drove, the fine must be paid by the owner of the car, so you don't have to be recognised. My second speeding was shot from behind (you can see the picture taken on the police homepage).

No fines for me in the last 4 and half years since I took my driver's licence (and many km driven in 12 countries).

PS: the Hotel manager where I stayed in Budapest for New Year warned me not to drink and drive during the New Year's night because there will be a lot of police checking the alcohol level. Although I drove in Budapest at maybe 1:30 a.m. there was no police around (but even if it was I didn't drink before getting back to the hotel).

Last year I drove for more than 45.000 km and got no fines, although I was flashed by a speed camera in Merano (IT), nothing came by mail...

Don't worry, there's people who collected hundreds fines having foreign license plates and never payed one...as long as they don't check (very difficult) or you don't kill anybody, nobody will have notice of a simple fine for wrong parking....
