..and thank god I would say. European automotive sector is already not living a happy moment, we really don't need to gift it to chinese and their fake-cars underpriced. Or it finishes like in the United States when opened too much at the japanese market causing the closing of some brands and the firing of many workers...

Yes, Fiat Oggi was an exclusively Brazilin Fiat of the early 1980s, only a few thousand were ever made in two years of production.

A station waggon also existed, called Panorama, it sold better:

And the hatchback version was called 147 (later a new name, Spazio, was adopted in the final years):

it was an improved version of the Italian 127

Alfa Romeo 2300 TI - year 1983(?)

This Alfa Romeo was built in Brazil from the 70s to the mid 80s and it was the only Alfa Romeo that only existed outside Italy, it was designed exclusively for the Brazilian market.

Its design is loosely based on the Alfetta berlina, but the 2300 TI was much larger, and much more luxurious. Production ended in 1986.

Today you have better luck spotting a UFO than a 2300 IT in Brazil, they are VERY VERY rare. It has been years since I last spotted one. This picture was taken from here

Some crazy person adapted one of these as a pickup truck:

just found it googling

According to this magazine, 29564 Alfa Romeo 2300TI were built in Brazil, and a few were exported to Germany.

Add from 1977:

These beautiful cars were quite popular within certain group of people in former CSRS:

And younger sister:

Now they are extremely rare and can get very high prices.

-----

Also very popular in Czechoslovakia was Simca. I think it was the only country behind the iron curtain selling these cars in showrooms. They were available on second hand market in Poland too, so my father had an opportunity to get one in early seventies. I was driven in one as a child what made very proud back then

Nissan Stanza was popular in Sweden in the 80's

But during those years Poland was still behind the iron curtain, so I presume there was no import until the 90's. By then the Stanzas which came to Poland were already second hand from Germany? Correct?

Or were any new Datsun Stanzas sold in your country ?

The Fiat Ritmo had a badge engineerd cousin in Spain called SEAT Ronda, must be unusual. SEAT sales started in Sweden first in the early 90's.

Today I went to Ryd (a village in Tingsryd municipality) to look at the car cemetary there, and while I was driving I saw some rare cars that I stopped to take photos of.

Seen in some small village that I can't remember the name of

A few Renault 16s

Seen in Ryd

Lada Riva

Correct, probably all Stanzas came to Poland as second hand vehicles. Generally before 1989 there were no official importers or dealers of foreign cars. New cars were imported either individually or by state owned company. The company had Sunny in offer, and it became relatively popular in 80's. Only wealthy people could afford such car - notable actors, lawyers, doctors etc. I guess one could specially order Stanza, but nobody did. People who wanted sth. bigger than Corolla or Sunny could order Camry, Galant or 626 in forementioned company - they were known on polish streets in commie times, Stanza and Buebird were not. Btw: in mid 80's I knew a dentist, who had silver Mazda 626. I remember how excited I was, when his son let me take a look inside. It was very expensive and luxury car then. My parents din't have a car at all.

Today I spotted another Quattroporte in my city. Perhaps I shoudln't have posted Maseratis in "rare cars" thread?

Remarkably, I used to laugh when I saw the cars east germans, poles and russians drove in the communist years. Odd old looking cars.

Nowadays you see the most exclusive cars in those countries; Maseratis, S-class MB's and monster-SUVs I rarely see those in moderate Sweden.

Actually my parents had a VW 1503 Beetle in the mid 70's, then they bought a Mazda 323 estate in 1979.

Our neighbour had a Opel Commodore Automatic and he once gave me a lift to school. That car was pure luxury back then. Especially as you could move the mirrors from the inside.

No photo displaying. Or is it just me? Anyway, I spotted one of those about two years ago in a local workshop waiting for refurbishment. Amazing vehicle, very rare in Czechia and extremely rare anywhere else.

And here's a jigsaw for non-polish users. Yes, odd and old looking. What car is this:
