Edmonton is building a really great system. I really like how large the stations are, they took a good long term biew of future capacity needs.........something Vancouver has never done.
I really hope they saty with this form of LRT and not transfer over to the street level cars. Those are great for local service but the current Edmonton LRT makeup is far superior for true mass/rapid transit.

What they should do is to cancell all level crossings. That would improve safety and make the system independend..

Should? You think Edmontonians ought to migrate to sheer chaos, to a quality of free-for-all interplay where the EMUs and road traffic intersect at grade? What might you suggest supplant their level crossings? Partial prescriptions'll never remedy So, how might Edmonton's reputation suffer were it to elevate its roads at crossings instead of entrenching them, eh?

Even though I prefer metro over LRT, Edmonton's system doesn't appear bad to me. If anything, enhancing safety features at their level crossings might be what's called for, although I've not heard of any systemic problem of conflict between their units and road traffic

Your statement reminds me of a long especial report the local English-language daily published in some Saturday edition of theirs about five years ago, where a BS'ing 'urban planner' harped on and on about converting Montreal's crosstown, downtown-skirting Blue line (entirely underground) to a tramway, because of presumed low ridership. About three years afterwards, train lengths were increased to six cars from three; for the past year now, the length of six cars is proving to be inadequate for three-quarters of any given day Over time, professionalism out there's becoming scarier and scarier ...
