Not really. In Caucasus, the geographical border between two continents follows along the watershed of the Greater Caucasus mountains, which in fact divides Azerbaijan into two parts with a smaller northern portion in Europe.

Europe is more an idea than an actual place. In physical geography and geology there is no reason to divide Europe from Asia, nor speaking of Europe as a continent. The Caucasian Mountains can make an impressive boarder, but for the Ural there are much higher mountain ranges within Europe. And if you use mountains as continental boarders, you have to divide the Indian subcontinent from Asia as well.

Well India was once its own island,

I think people separated Europe and Asia, because of culture and race.
beginning nobody really cared and as goods and people gets more developed, they start separating people and when Europe begun racing ahead of Asia, that's when the real difference comes in and as we come in the modern era, people would rather say Europe is a separate continent then asia

I like the retro-futurist shape of the design above. I hope that one is built.

Can't believe you people like this crap And as Killer said it's still just a poor modification of the old "designs".

well a design like that would be epic, but i don't see it being built. waiting for real architects presenting us renders with maybe a similar concept but good renders.

the tower doesn't seem to change too much I guess the developer really likes the modified versions of old design , but everything else around the tower has completely changed
hope Khazar Islands will look like that

I guess all we've really seen as of now is just concept renders. After the architects, and - more importantly - engineers have had their say, I think the tower will look vastly different from the renders shown so far.

I think they want to keep the landmark this height so it could be more outstanding and magnificent, but if the area around it is ok for a cbd, then it could turn this into a great, popular tourist and developed area.
