Doesn't look very serious at the moment and more importantly you certainly won't see design from the renders build since it's just a temp filler.

Just to ask again. This stuff is serious?
I'd bet it isn't. A kilometer tower in Saudi Arabia is feasible because of the gigantic ammount of oil money they have but Azerbaijan is not that rich so I think that 300m, maybe 400m is the limit to what they can build there

It strikes me as an even more unlikely proposal than what's going on in the Arab world . I mean , at least there we know they have the money to throw away at these sorts of things even if they'll just lose money until the day they're torn down .
Azerbaijan may have some wealthy developers and lofty plans but , unlike Saudi Arabia or the U.A.E. , they have to make a profit . Towers like this simply cost a fortune and don't turn a profit for the simple reason that you have to charge an awful lot for the space you let and for that to work means you have to somehow justify those costs . You can't justify $1,000/psf in a place like Baku . In fact , you can't get that in the most expensive office markets in the world .

i like where this is going, the project is unlikely, but due to the fact that the island is a long term project i think we may hear about the possibility of this monster again and again in the next years.

I would wait for the final renderings of this tower. I am sure it will be much more professional than the one wee see now. In fact the same thing happened to Trump Tower Baku. The project was changed and became more attractive

The Island is under construction. But it doesn't mean that tower will be also. It's unreal. But the developer has achieved the goal: he's known on the world, everyone knows where Baku is located, everyone is talking about. And probably he'll get some investors.

and in ten years they probably changed the height twice because of other projects that were planned as tallest building xD

Just Baku are developing the remaining part of the country doesn't. It's like Baku going in to the 21 st century and the rest of the country staying in the 19 st century

That is not true at all. Well I can agree that some regions develop faster than the rest but still the whole country is moving forward. Visit our subforum and check some cities and towns such as Ganca, Gabala, Naftalan, Sheki etc.

For example, this is how Ganca is
