I've never lived in New Zealand. I'm arguing based in what I've seen from the internet and statistics. New Zealand has overall better quality of life than most of Europe. That's indeed true that you earn more in France, but, on the contrary, in NZ you got lower expenditures.

Of course, there is poverty there. But it's not a huge problem.

And i'm not spanish.

Portugal to move from developed to underdeveloped country had to drastically lower the average life expectancy, increased infant mortality, lower educational level and freezing salaries for decades

Well, the HDI index, agree or disagree doesn't paint France and Spain either that different regarding, at least, human development.

Material deprivation

I would like to see Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, but I imagine they will be very well ranked.

The poverty rate in Portugal is 17% in Spain?
In the latest OECD report on children living below the poverty line, Spain, UK and Italy were ahead of Portugal!

Please, the OECD didn't put a global standard. They only suggest. But the poverty line wasn't the same for all the countries. Portugal has significantly more poverty than Italy, Spain and, of course, the UK.

And in NZ that is a BIG part of society, but even so poverty is not limited to those groups.

dear Acosta, you're not Argentinian, not Spanish, where are you from?
Don't tell me that you're south american...., (because that would explain a colonial complex !)

Wallonia is only 30% of Belgium. You think other countries like USA, Ireland, UK, Scandinavia, Germany,... don't have 'poorer' areas?
