Not all buildings have to be in a perfect cluster to make it a legendary skyline. Using an example, have a look at Chicago because the buildings there are spread out. London is nothing like Chicago but it will have quite a few buildings. Frankfurt has a relatively small skyline as all the tall buildings are put into one space.

Agreed it is a very nice dense cluster but I think it needs a little more variety in terms of height it is quite uniform and some of the buildings don't seem to be of the highest level of architectural design but I think the undisputed top four are Frankfurt London Paris and Moscow in which order is completely subjective but I don't think anybody could dispute that top four.

I think London needs a lot of improvement, but it's pretty good for Europe.

Really, that is NY? I didn't know that. I thought it was a render of London in the future. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

So anyone who doesn't agree with you is a troll. OK, my join date is Jan 2003 and not Jun 2006 as it says under by avatar. If you disagree you're a troll. And no, I don't see a skyline. Europe has two skylines - La Defense and Frankfurt. There's no third skyline worthy of being called one. My city doesn't have a skyline and I don't go around calling everyone a troll who says so. London is one of the greatest cities on Earth so I don't see why Londoners are so insecure about their skyline. If I were a Londoner I'd talk about the million other great things about the city rather than calling everyone a troll.

That's not what Gherkin's saying. The point he's trying to make is that even if a city doesn't have many skyscrapers, it still has a skyline - it might be a rather poor skyline, but there is still a line of buildings on the horizon and therefore there is a skyline. Rather than saying you can't see a skyline at all, it would be better to say you don't think London's skyline is very good, because even though it might not match many other cities around the globe, the number of stand-out buildings in London still forms a skyline, however good or bad it is. Personally I think London's skyline is very good, but even I don't think it's number 1 in Europe.

Don't act all ignorant. You know exactly what I mean by skyline. By your definition a 1 foot high brick in a flatland is also technically a skyline.
