They are currently studying the opportunity (and the costs) to open the run-down section shown in the pix. Sorry for intruding your thread.

Btw I must say that I've recently been to Manchester and I found the Metrolink very modern and neat. Althoug I only used it two times as the city's centre of interest for a one-weekend-tourist are easily reachable by foot.

I'm wondering if I should change my guess to the 4th June now it seems driver training is scheduled for the 23/04.
