Grande Provence Estate in Franschoek, South Africa - since 1694.

South African wineries have really diversified in terms of the experience to be had on the estates. Some of SA's best restaurants and accommodation is found on these wine farms. A lot have horseback wine tasting tours, biking tours with wildlife, art galleries, golf, etc.

The accom at Grande Provence is often on the worlds best lists...

I know, the area around Cape Town ( Western Cape ) is very reminiscent of the South of France especially.
The town of Franschoek, where this winery is situated, was founded by French Hugenouts a few centuries ago - it is still very French, and the Bastille festival here is crazy!

Boschendal - circa 1685.

One of the Grande Dames of South African wine. The estate itself is huge, with its own wildlife like antelope, porcupine, Caracal Lynx, and a wealth of huge and beautiful trees. The architecture is Cape Dutch, and the buildings have been preserved as they were 300 years ago.
