My trip to Hanoi - Vietnam

I was in Hanoi in December for 3 days and I had a fairly pleasant time. I will upload my photos on here over the next few weeks/months as I am still working on them.

Vietnam is a very cheap destination for tourists and the free market economic changes that have taken place over the last few years have proved to be fairly beneficial from what I could see

Hanoi is the only major city in Vietnam where it gets cool in winter (12 C at night 20 C during the day)

The infrastructure is still not very developed especially when it comes to power lines (they are all over the place). The city in itself is nice to explore with all the markets, shops, temples and tiny streets.

An interesting anecdote about Vietnam: Even though coins have been issued by the government, people have refused to use them so only paper money are currently used (I wish people in other countries would boycott coins too) the government was forced to continue printing the old paper denominations that they were planning to replace

Excellent photo set mate. I can just hear the traffic noise, feel that muggy heat and smell the food.

This is really going to be a city to watch in the future, the changes about to take place here will take our breath away I reckon.

And you and your thing about getting rid of coins... haha!

oh Hanoi is not hot in December, that's why I went.

Don't you hate coins? I think they are just useless piece of crap which most

people despise.

To be more correct, Hanoi is only (major) city in SE Asia that gets cold in winter.

I can't agree on that. Here in ShenZhen the mercury hit the around 5 degree during winter at night. This temperature without any central heating, no proper insulation and windows with huge gaps makes it pretty uncomfortable to stay here during that season. I'd say that e.g. in Harbin, where it has -20 degree during winter it is much more pleasant to stay inside.
