Yes. But it's just a 1st phase of the project (brand new line). Whole line will have 55km (18 stations).

Funding earmarked for Port of Gdansk rail upgrade
15 Apr, 2014

Polish infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe has signed a contract worth around 1.8 million zł to carry out a feasibility study into proposed improvements to rail infrastructure surrounding the Port of Gdansk.

The study, which will consider the most effective options for modernisation of the stations which serve the sea port, follows an earlier announcement of plans to upgrade line 226 which connects the port with Gdansk city centre.

Line 226 is to benefit from a modern traffic control system which will allow freight trains to reach speeds of 100 km/h and increase the number of daily services from 60 to 360.

The projects are part financed by the European Union Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013 funding agreement.

The feasibility study will be completed in September 2015

Pesa wins Gdańsk airport DMU order
25 Jun 2014

The Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna project will use a mix of reopenings and new construction will provide a route running inland of the existing Gdansk - Gdynia line

POLAND: Pomorskie voivodship has selected Pesa to supply 10 diesel multiple-units for 114m złoty.

The seven three-car and three two-car DMUs are to be delivered by May 2015.

They will be used on the Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna line which is under construction to link Gdańsk to the city’s airport and Gdynia, where it will join the existing route to Kartuzy and Kościerzyna.

The 120 km/h DMUs are required to have an entrance height of 760 mm rather than Poland’s more usual 550 mm, and will be equipped with sliding steps for use at lower platforms.

Gdansk's main railway station has the potential to be fantastic, much like Wroclaw Glowny. Nice to see work being done on it. When I was there in 2009, the building showed a lot of potential but was definitely outdated.
