Chartres, France

During my last stay in Paris in December I made a daytrip to Chartres around 100 km away from Paris. The city has a population of 39,000 and would not be much different than a hundred other provincial cites in northern France if there wasnīt its early gothic cathedral, one of the most important buildings of European art history.
