Lincoln Building

Here is the model. It depicts the building before whoever-it-was mercilessly cut up the gothic arches at the top. One deliberate inaccuracy: because of the topography, the Madison Ave and 41st St. entrances are one story higher than the 42nd St. entrance--I pretended the ground is flat.

[see below]

If there are any problems, let me know or go ahead and fix.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Very realistic your model, I loved. I hope this is the first of a great series.

Very realistic and nice! May I give a suggestion, can you reupload it to Imageshack instead, cause that's what I use (I'm not saying it's bad, but Imageshack is better because it does not blur your model)

Lincoln Building as png

Thanks, Mutiix. Yah--Flickr compressed the krap out of it. Won't do that again. This should be better:

Wow this is a very good model. I like it! But there is one problem for me. It's a little bit to tall (if it's in scale 1:1700). It should be 205m. It would be really great if you could fix it. But correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks, MHX. Compliment from YOU means a lot.

To match your standard, It has to be printed at 90%. Thanks for noticing that.

I scaled it 1:1700 at 96 PPI. Your meter stick is scaled 1:1700 at 86 PPI. To match your standard, It has to be printed at 90% to get the correct 121 mm height. Thanks for noticing that.

Ok thank you I had to print it on 67% to match my scale I don't know why.
It's a really great model to build everything fits perfectly. You should try to make a base too. I hope you'll continue making good models like this one.

Again, thank you. I don't know why you needed to reduce it so much, either, but glad it worked. Would love to see a picture of the built model.

May try to make the 3 other buildings in that block when I have time.

Hecksher Bldg

I'm working on the Lincoln Bldg's neighbor, the Hecksher Bldg, now known as 315 Madison, formerly 50 East 42nd St., New York.

Here's the diagram. Model will be along next week, most likely..

[MHX: same scale, i.e. needs to be scaled down to 90%]

Thx for the information. I can't wait to build it and put it next to my Lincoln Building. It looks great.
