62 in Canada by my count. If it sounds low, that's because 2 of Canada's big three cities have height restrictions. There's only 3 in Vancouver, despite it being a region with many, many highrises.

Looks like quite the race taking place between Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Impressive to think that Malaysia and Singapore were once one country.

but I see where you're coming from, yeah it sure is debatable, & that's your point of view, & its your thread after all.

actually to us... any data for some highrises in our city is hard to come by, especially online sources. lol
Why is that? I spent many hours trying to get info on Manila buildings with no luck. Any how, Manila's skyline is really coming together. An apex/focal point would do wonders for its appearance though.

Quite right. It's really just Toronto driving the numbers for the whole country. Both Montreal and Vancouver have rather severe height restrictions in place. Canada's 4th largest city, Ottawa, has them too. It's 5th place Calgary (1.2 million people) that will have to start contributing. Maybe 6th place Edmonton will too.

Calgary's already contributing, 14 of that 62 was in Calgary. 3 for Vancouver, 9 for Montreal, 2 for Mississauga. Tallest in Edmonton's 4 metres short of 150.

i think that TV Radio Masts/Satellite Towers must not be included here. the thread stated "buildings"...

but with the 8 other completed buildings added by tita01 & the recently topped out Once Central, now the Philippines has 69 buildings completed with 150m++ height...

and again, to think that there are many unaccounted tall buildings here, I will make my estimates to 75++ completed in the country..

Great thread!

On the CTBUH site for China:

1146 buildings (not including towers) 150m+, Completed and UC with actual height figures.
75 more with no height figures (includes residential or hotel buildings 47+ floors and office buildings 37+ floors.

Taking into account that there are probably a couple hundred that are not in the database yet, the real number for China could be close to 1500.

Dominican Republic:
Only 1 and its residential (in Santo Domingo)

Today there is a court order concerning 6 buldings (5 of them taller than 150 floors) proyect that was put on hold because of the elite complaining that it was a peaceful-home oriented neighborhood...I tell them to move to the countryside
Its a residential proyect also...

In the long term there is also a mega proyect in called San Souci located in "el malecon" and near the city's colonial zone:

Im using a public internet service right now, so the renders planned for this proyect are mostly blocked...so yea, that's all I got for now.

hours? even if you spend weeks, i don't think you'll be able to find it online
well not just for buildings, any other info you want to get from city hall is a headache. manila is about the same size as toronto city proper but divided into 17 independent small cities, so that equals to 17 city halls if you want all the info for Manila . on the other hand many developers don't release their infos publicly either, you might have to call or visit the developer's office.

although not in a couple of years, they are moving our airport so height limits in various areas would be lifted, they once blocked a 600m tower.

i think there could be a new focal point.. the tallest u/c below would be accompanied by another taller supertall u/c & several other skyscrapers including the trump tower.

US navy
to me many other skylines are already great without no major focal point, because they are massive eg: bangkok, tokyo(though sometimes SkyT is visible with the shinjuku city skyline,) nyc(ESB not really a focal point, maybe after FT is done)

was both for air traffic?...good thing the toronto airport is far out in the suburbs... btw, I noticed on my tags that canadian airports have weird codes like YYZ in contrast to Manila: MNL

Both were for aesthetics. Montreal legislated that no building could be taller than Mount Royal, the mountain in the middle of the city, to preserve views of it. Vancouver also wanted to preserve views of the North Shore Mountains along view corridors and didn't want taller buildings that would blot them out. As a result, there are many highrises in both cities between 100 and 150m. Ottawa legislated nothing could be taller than the peace tower of the parliament buildings, which was silly considering how short it is and how many people live in the Ottawa area.

well, we're not sure about that for now since the crown of One Central hasn't been constructed yet. what we are sure of presently, though, is that it's already as tall as the building - (RCBC Plaza 2), which has an official height of 170m - next to it.
