Developer wants to redesign planned hotel at Rakvere Vallimägi.



The good news is that planned new hotel project in Rakvere is not dead. Unfortunately the bad new is that developer wants to redesign the project and is also lobbying for detail planning changes.

I personally think the second design is fine, even more so than the first one which despite the interesting solution with the elevator doesn't seem to fit all too well with the crazy town slogan Rakvere's been trying to enforce.
Actually, I wouldn't even mind if the developers returned to the first design, all I hope is they don't fudge this project up with their constant redesigning.

Rakvere plans to turn Seminari street into linear park.

In the future Seminari street will be linear park surrounded by renovated,energy efficient apartment buildings and entire surrounding area will be turned more people-friendly place.
Architects drew new designs for 16 apartment buildings,which over the time will be renovated.
It's a first Urb. Energy project in Estonia - program,which will help cities to increase energy efficiency on larger urban area.

Muuseas,ega keegi tea mis Arvo Pärdi kontserdimajast sai? Oli ju küllaltki vinge rahvusvaheline võistlus paar aastat tagasi ja praeguseks peaks juba midagi reaalselt toimuma. Ega ometi kogu plaani tühistatud?

Mhh, the first pic is part of winning scheme, others are other entries (runners up, excluding a few prize winners..)

This design project is part of larger Rakvere - veloCity 2012 project.

walls have been laid and windows installed, currently they are working on the inside.

a new ramp for the underground parking lot has been built

and during all that they are cutting up the old ramp with a really big cutter.
