Thread was created to order to store "nice to eyes" roads in the midst of various type environment. Surely, mountains roads are amazing, but nice experience to travelers may be driving also on sea coast, nearby lake, along river, on plain terrains and even in city among lights neons, great bridges and interesting architecture

Another Norwegian road that may be of interest.

Norwegian County Road 63 (r63) between Langvannet and Åndalsnes.

What you are seing: Fjords, mountains, a few villages, some modern architecture, and step, winding roads.

The road going down here is r63:

Norwegian r63 kinda reminds me of a Romanian Transfăgărășan road...

No high mountains, nor flat road... just "middle mountains".

It is located at southern Aragon, at Spain.

We have a thread about "guess the road" and I posted this one considering it will be very easy (and it was).

The full road is so bad as in the image but the picture is very nice at all. Nice very little villages and pure nature.

This area is known as "Montoro Organs". Montoro is the name of the town close to it.
Organs because the form of the mountains and because it is said that with a heavy wind it sounds like an organ

I can find some roads inside national parks (last one I posted was national park since near a century, it was the first one created in Spain, very small but included that corner)... but this is just an area where live nobody. It could be the area in southern Europe with less density of population.

This is one of the most dangerous but beautiful roads I've ever driven on. It's a local road going from western shore of Lake Garda to the town of Tremosine. It's never larger than 1 lane (in total!) but it's a 2 way road. There are some rest places on the side allowing people to let other cars in the other direction drive by. In google maps it's called "Via Benaco". Some pics:

Wow.

Some other nice alpine roads...

Germany: Wallgau-Vorderriß-Austrian border (private toll road from Wallgau to Vorderriß, B 307 from Vorderriß to the Austrian border). It follows the scenic Isar valley.
Switzerland: 2/2b Luzern-Küssnacht-Brunnen: along the Vierwaldstättersee shore.
29 Samedan-Poschiavo: Bernina pass.
Italy: SS38 Prato allo Stelvio-Bormio: Stelvio pass and spectacular views on the Ortles. Unfortunately it was rather cloudy when when the google car drove this one.

One of the most beautiful roads I've driven on (as a passenger) in Europe is the road that runs parallel to Scutari lake/Skadarsko Jezero in Montenegro. [My photo]

The road leading up from the town of Kotor is also amazing. [My photo]

Are you sure about this? As far as I remember the private tolled section is further south, in Austria, from Hinterriß to Eng.

Route 82 between Györ and Veszprem in Hungary is also a pretty drive, at least compared to danish roads

Yay, Lauterbrunnen, I've been there 3 times, in 1997, in 2003 and in 2009. Maybe the most scenically located town in Switzerland and easy to access.

I made a video of the road to Stechelberg the last time I was there.
