Thanks. Interesting that construction is so high. I'm guessing a significant portion of that is mining related work too.

^Yes, a lot of those categories would be involved in mining. I'd fall under 'Professional, Scientific and Technical Services', that involves a lot of mining work too, engineers, surveyors, geologists etc.
Would be interesting to compare the breakdown to other states. |

NSW quite a different makeup.
http://www.deewr.gov.au/lmip/default...y_Total_Ranked Actually every other state/territory has social services and retail at the top. |

Just an observation but i thought Port Lincoln had the highest average net worth per capita, not Perth.

Wasn't sure if you were serious about Port Lincoln, was wondering if there was a story? I don't know the first thing about the place actually.

The fishing industry is huge there. I remember reading an article that Port Lincoln had the highest amount of millionares per capita compared to anywhere else in the world, but of course that would be skewed by the small population.

Isn't that where Dean Lukin was from?

How easy is it to find work in Perth not including the mining industry?

Depends, if you've able to work in Australia and want it bad enough I don't think it would be that hard. An acquaintance of mine who's in her 50's just gave up her long term job as a sales representative, did a short course in security and now has a job FIFO on a minesite security gate. It took a few weeks to organise. Depends on the demand in certain areas and the skills you have or are willing to get.Depends, what kind of work are you thinking? WA's unemployment rate is 4.3 and falling. There are shortages in areas. Ditto about above in terms of skills and demand, although if you've got any skill base, at 4.3% I don't see that you'd have much trouble getting something. There are signs up in retail places advertising for staff, that is only a recent thing here. |
