In return for MCC letting Paramount close the street for filming, instead of paying for the shoot they agreed with MCC that they would part fund (majority) a refurb on one of the buildings which was in great disrepair. I'll find out the name/number of the building. I know where the building is just can't remember the name of it. Think it was to be turned into apartments or offices.

No worries. On a side note, great idea for a thread and although some of your ideas are fantasies I do agree with the majority of them. As always I'll post when I find out info that I'm privy to.

A most interesting read thank you. It doesn't change the fact that only 3 out of 9 of the large office buildings called the Manchester technopark appear to be occupied / have ever been occupied. I almost wish Manchester wouldn't allow huge to let signs everywhere I find them depressing making Manchester look unsuccessful as a city. Surely they could be more effectively advertised on the internet / in property newspapers / agents etc. Notice how the Trafford centre paints a pretty picture if a shop is boarded up rather than sticking huge to let signs on the shop.

I'll be updating this very soon, possibly today, for June 2012!

You may remember last month I was worrying because things had slowed down a little, but now there's been lots of stuff added to June and other months! Despite us being dumped back into recession things seem to be going alright and steady for the time being.

I'll also be posting the timeline for the next 12 months so we'll get a wee glimpse into 2013. January's a dead month at the moment, but February seems to be a looker!

Looking forward to spilling some good news.

Here you go Slow Burn.

Quote:
Manchester’s First Float-In Movie

22 August 2012 - 23 August 2012

This summer, for two nights, Ducie Street car park will become Manchester’s first float-in-drive-in-walk-in cinema to celebrate the 2012 Canal Festival in Piccadilly Basin. The event on 22 and 23 August will open its gates at 18:00 and show the screening from 20:30.

Captain America, filmed just across the road, will be shown on the first night and a Twitter vote-off will decide which film will be screened on the Thursday evening. People can choose which watery classic floats their boat from the three choices The Life Aquatic, Finding Nemo and Jaws. Tweet #thelifeaquatic #findingnemo #jaws to @piccadillymcr by Sunday 15 July.

Hot noodles courtesy of the Northern Quarter’s award-winning restaurant, Ning, will be on sale and a limited bar for post-work drinks before the film. Those arriving early will be treated to larger-than-life projections of the 40 winning images short-listed for Manchester Photographic’s Urban Canal photography prize. These images are also exhibited in the new Manchester Photographic Dale Street gallery during the festival, from 18 - 26 August.

Film-goers will also be able to see a stop-motion film of the world’s first permanent Lomography Wall being constructed on nearby Tariff Street. The event is free and is not ticketed so it is a first come first serve basis.

My bad guys. Some of these dates have been set in since the start of the year, I try to keep note of changes but clearly sometimes I fail.

January for All Star Lanes though?! That's ridiculous, what's gone wrong?
