I might be in the minority here, but I like the building attached to the "Abbot's House"!

This is another Szczepan Baum's (with help from Danuta Oledzka) project. Dom Technika was built between 1967 and 1974.

^ Cobblestone roads, more renovations and restricted vehicle access would be nice (example below).

Whole Main Town should be allowed only for pedestrians. This is absolutely a minimum.

no i think vehicles should only be allowed in the morning and after that they have to be parked outside the historic area.

Sometimes it's really hard to believe that almost every structure that we see within the historic area of Gdansk was built after 1945. Just incredible...

Kwartal Kamienic (architect: Antoni Taraszkiewicz)

Neptune's Fountain (sculptor: Tomasz Radziewicz)

Beautifully reconstructed tenements by architectural style (from the left: Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque)...

Was there any nice bridge in a pre-1793 Gdansk? Anything worth rebuilding?

Gothic Bridge in Klodzko

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...n%C3%B3wce.JPG

The Green Bridge, Cow Bridge and Stagiewny Bridge in Gdansk look so plain and unattractive...

This project (architect: Ryszard Gabriel) is really cool:

This reconstruction is an astonishing, remarkable accomplishment. So moving.

Thanks for this outstanding thread with so many details, descriptions and "Before and After" photos.
