I love this building from the 70´s In León is known as "La huevera" (the egg box) and for me still has a very modern look.

Thanks! León is a very old city but nevertheless, and even though much less known than the older part, has some interesting modern architecture.

This is the CEARD, An elite center for sportlers mainly from Spain but also from around the world for shotput throwing. The building is located in the University Campus and the reason why this center is in Leon is in part because of the efforts of the Leonese Champion Manuel Martínez, a guy fro town who has been European and World champion in this speciality.

This is the Tanatorium and forence institute; it is not that I want to go there soon, but is by far the nicest I visited, it is partly burried and above it has a lake. The pure lines, the nice decoration and the trees and plants help to transmit a very calm atmosphere. As you probably understand I did not dare to take pictures inside.

The Railway arrived in León in 1863 and that was a revolution for the city. This year is expected to arrive the AVE (High Speed up to 350 km/h.) and will probably change the habits of transportation for many inhabitants. Easily in 1:50 in the center of Madrid.
Because it´s strategic situation all the fast line trails will be controlled from this new building in the city still u/c.

This was the station until last year, its future is uncertain but won´t be demolished, there are efforts so it becomes a Railway Museum but there are no funds at the moment.

This is the temporary new station, the train lines do not cross the city anymore and a bypass has been made, the next step is to burry the city section and create new avenues and green spaces. A new much bigger station will be built next to it.

I´m glad you like it, and yes your desires are orders

The Auditorium, as well as the MUSAC is an art-work of Tuñón and Mansilla, and apart from been used as theater, congress center and even opera it frequently holds art exhibitions. The interior is wonderful but unfortunately I don´t have photos of it yet. As soon as I can I´ll try to solve that...

This is Espacio Vias, a cultural center for the young people of the city, it is located in the old depo of the Feve railway station and it organizes lots of activities such as cinema exhibitions, give courses for new technologies, photography, painting... and it is also a place for conferences

You can arrive by one of the numerous rental bikes that the city hall offer in the city. Efforts for promoting the use of bicycles have been notorious in the last years, even though there´s still a long way to go...

Well, I prefer to consider it a hidden gem

There´s not tourist massification, no cues at all entering museums and monuments and it is a very safe city with affordable prices. The university helps creating a nice cultural atmosphere, the distances are walkable and beatiful nature is just next to the city. After living in many different places my personal opinion is that in this mid-size towns-cities is where you get the highest quality of life.

Let´s now move to the river. This is a Center for the interpretation of Renewable Energies. The water from the Bernesga rivers moves a turbine that gives electricity to the city. The building is a must visit for the children of León in Science class.

Now I present you a successful milk machine. The farmer comes everyday with fresh milk and refill the machine, then you come with your own bottle or buy one and you buy the quantity you want. You get nice and fresh milk from the area and the entrepeneur farmer avoids intermediaries. I´m a very happy user
