The City Wall is one of the best well preserved in Europe; in Spain only the city walls of Ávila and Lugo can compare. I must say that these other two are amzing...
Some parts are Roman and others from the Middle Ages, city growth destroyed some parts although still a lot to be admired.

The back side of these houses use the City Wall as part of their structure

Construction between the "Cubos" (don´t know the english word). Cubos refers to the round-shaped defense in the City Wall

There is a dilema about demolishing or not the houses built directly against the city wall. Some remain and others have been teared down. Many of them have a special charm even though they avoid a clear view of the original monument and also provoke some other problems for a good conservation. Having a great patrimony is as nice as difficult

Some centenary houses around the area still have not been renovated. It would be a pity if they were demolished

Great thread Filandon, congratulations! The pics are so cool, also because you are showing the different parts of the city.

León is impressive, everyone should visit it, it is a must in Spain.

I can't wait to see the Cathedral pics

Thank you Cuartango. I can not be neutral but Yes!!! I think the city worths a visit, or two, or three...

We both enjoy wonderful unspoiled historic gems; Burgos and León are similar in many many ways and because they are not very much known as tourist destinations both keep that special and real charm that we know how to enjoy

The High School I went to it´s just next to this building and visible from class, I was always dreaming that one day it would be mine to transform it into my dream loft. (I keep dreaming )

Really one of the most amazing buildings in Leon. It was built by Pablo Diez Fernandez a leonese who emmigrated to Mexico and became one of the founders of Corona (Coronita over here) and managed it from the 30s until his death in the 70s...
