Casa Botines Work from Antonio Gaudí (for architecture lovers no longer presentation needed). The construction was built at the end of the XIXthe century and it shares neogothic and modernism. The first owners were a clothes merchant family and they wanted working and a living spaces, and it seems they got good ones... Now it belongs to a bank as the main building of their social branch.

Corral de Villapérez. The origin of this little façade goes back to the XVth century even though what we see now is from 1758. Today it is the entry to apartments in the old town

Also in the Corral de Villapérez we find this other noble house that hosts the Vela Zanetti Foundation. Vela Zanetti was a painter half from Burgos half from León that showed in his art work the hard life of people in the rural areas of Spain. It has a very characteristic style and one of his works is exhibited in the United Nations headquarters in New York, it is the first thing you see when entering the building

Lovely photos all round. I especially like Casa Botines at the top of the page. This will certainly be a place to visit when I'm on my year abroad in Madrid.
