I really hope this building comes out well. I can't tell from the renderings exactly how the facade is going to turn out, but generally I think it's better than the others going up in Brooklyn.

The Barclay Center looks much better with the green roof. But oofah, the downtown Brooklyn skyline is helter skelter.

Haste makes waste indeed. I wish NYC would ban PTAC units and have some sort of design review for new buildings. At least this and some of the newer buildings going up are better quality.

Brooklyn gentrification goes soooo fast. I wonder what kind of place it will become about 10 years from now. Amazing things are happening right in front of our eyes

Bland and characterless at the current pace. Price of 'progress'.

That top pic is stunning, awesome to see. Brooklyn is on its way up literally and figuratively.

Height Increase! This tower will apparently be Brooklyn's new tallest, finally breaking the 600ft mark.

Brooklyn Daily Eagle: A tale of two towers: 333 Schermerhorn St. will be Brooklyn's tallest building

Quote:
[...]
Soon Douglas C. Steiner's under-construction tower at 333 Schermerhorn St. will become the borough's tallest.

We just checked in with Steiner, whose soaring Downtown Brooklyn rental-apartment development is starting to shape up nicely, we've noticed.

He said his 56-story project, which is called the Hub, will be 610 feet tall.

That's taller than his original plan for 333 Schermerhorn St., announced in early 2012 — and it will put the Hub head and shoulders above two apartment towers a few blocks away that are now the borough's tallest buildings, 388 Bridge St. and AVA DoBro at 100 Willoughby St.

To change the title to 610 feet, please.

Pretty awesome, I work within a few blocks of all these buildings, just started there last week, and it's a crazy place.
