Man -o- Man. That is an impressive building. However, we need MET3 in there too.

Awesome rendering VisionMia, is that Met 3 directly behind One Biscayne tower?
I agree that One Bayfront Plaza will become Miami's signature building. It stands out in such a great way because of its height and has a prime location so it can be entirely seen. Let's just hope Tibor Hollo gets to it as fast as possible! |

So this building has a chance? Or are we all getting hyped up for nothing and it will probably never be approved?

Yes it has a very good chance. They are considering allowing a special height ordinance for it, and the developer is willing to scale back the building from 1,180 feet to 1,050 feet, so that it would have a much better chance at getting approved.
Read the article posted by "interesan-t" earlier in the thread and you will see what I'm talking about (it's really a great article with pictures, description of building, description of circumstances surrounding the project right now, etc.). It's not definitely going to happen but it has a good chance. It's something that we have the right to be excited about...plus it's an OFFICE BUILDING, something that downtown Miami really needs more of right now instead of condos. Not to mention that it's a supertall, Miami's first building over 1,000 feet if built. |

Some of the orange ones are already under construction, and others will most likely get built. The only one I see there that is a definite NO is "1101 Brickell", the round one that's about the height of Four Seasons in Brickell. The majority of the orange buildings, though, are already under construction, so the answer is yes. That is just an old picture so some of the buildings that already exist and the ones that are under construction have to be added in. If you visited Miami more often you would really be shocked at how much the skyline has changed since you last visited...it's changing every day. A lot of those orange buildings ALREADY exist.
The one other orange one that might not get built is Met 3 but that's up for debate...I think it will get built but some think differently... |

Thats a shame the 1101 Brickell looks pretty tall, what are the orange ones behind the bayfront plaza? Almost looks like 2 towers of the same length, are they u/c?

Below is a picture of the complex when completed. ![]() The smaller tower in the foreground is Phase 1, and the taller one with the twin peaks in the background is Phase 2. The complex is just south of the Miami River and was exciting when first announced because of it's environmentally friendly aspects and public plaza that will be between the two buildings when completed. And as for 1101 Brickell, that was actually approved but the developer is just not going to build it. That building was actually supposed to be built on top of an existing one that is called "1101 Brickell". It was canceled for financial reasons and lack of sales I beleive. |
