my understanding (extremely limited) is that the big 5 have been growing extremely fast since the recession on the world stage, and need more office space as a result.

Yeah you're right about the banks being a big factor. Check out this report about office space in the GTA. Has a lot of points.

Will it also be large ( as in FCP/Scotia sized or bigger)? That's what would really make me excited. I don't want to believe that we're forever doomed to have BA/RBC Centre sized office projects.

My bets are on it being the 45 Bay site.

Looks like Toronto will be getting 12-15 medium sized office buildings rather than 3-4 big ones.

Let's all say it together (and maybe they will speed up)...
...downtown relief line.

Speaking of the DRL, there was an article in the Star about the looming infrastructure deficit. We're building like crazy, but not investing in the infrastructure to service it. If we're going to build 40-100 floors from Bremer to Yorkville, I suspect we'll need more than just the DRL. We might need 2-3 additional lines just in the core.
I have a feeling us downtowners are going to be walking everywhere... even in winter. The infrastructure will take 10-20 years to catch up to the demand for it. Quote:
