Me too.
I'd prefer that second one, it if it had larger windows, to let more light in. |

Opus is a new luxury development on the hillsides of Hong Kong Island with harbour views. Designed by Frank Gehry, they're being rented out and sold at astronomical prices.
Gehry-Designed Apartment Fetches Swire Properties HK$430 Million Aug 30, 2012 9:29 PM GMT+0800 Bloomberg ![]() ![]() Swire Properties Ltd. (1972) has sold an apartment in the first residential building in Asia designed by Frank Gehry, the designer of Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum, for HK$430 million ($55 million). The 6,755-square-foot apartment is in a 12-floor building known as Opus Hong Kong and is located on The Peak, home to some of the city’s most expensive housing, the company said in a statement today. Swire earlier leased another apartment, which has its own pool, at a monthly rental of HK$850,000 for three years, according to the statement. Swire, the owner of Pacific Place and Island East office and shopping mall complexes in Hong Kong, has seen demand for prime office space in the city weakening, Chief Executive Officer Martin Cubbon said earlier this month. First-half underlying profit rose 3.8 percent on rental income growth, the company said Aug. 10. “We embarked on this project with Frank Gehry with the intention of producing an exceptionally rare work of architecture,” Cubbon said in today’s statement. “These transactions demonstrate the market’s appreciation for our achievement.” |

One day we may be forced to have floating cities. That is if the worlds population keeps increasing. I think it would be cool.

There are numerous in Metro Manila most of them in Makati, Ortigas and The Fort.
One example would be Rockwell in Makati. image hosted on flickr

I believe elevator technology is limited to a certain height, hence as a building gets taller, more space needs to be allocated to house multiple sets of elevators and skylobbies. Forget what was the exact figure but I doubt the likes of Burj Khalifa would be profitable.

That first one is ostentatious and vulgar. It's amazing how some people can have all the money in the world and still fail to create a beautiful space. They had a few nice pieces like that Persian rug, but the rest? Tackorama!
