''So what? DIEESE (and nobody else for that matter) NEVER contested those numbers as they're absolutely correct

why o why then, do oficial numbers speak of 5% unemployment, and DIEESE of 10,5%

Where did those jobs go?
Forging data? Do you yourself believe in an inflation of 6,5 %

Do you understand unemployment data has NOTHING to do with the data for job creation? We have several different methodologies to mesure unemployment worldwide. That's why different numbers. Data for job creation is simple: it's based on "carteira assinada". It's generated automatically.

About inflation, you are kidding, right? Several PRIVATE institutions mesure inflation, like the IGP-M of FGV, for example. And again, nobody contests the IBGE numbers (IPCA), only you and other clueless people. The financial world operates under the assumption these numbers are correct, because they are. How can a person who not understand such basic things, dares to talk about data forgery so liberally?

And I'm still waiting a link claiming Brazilian government forges numbers. I'm a regular reader of Veja, Exame, Folha de São Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, and I've never read such thing.

Yeah, because their economies are growing at a rapid speed nonstop, and it will be the economic power region in the future.

And WHAT this has to do with forgery data? No, I'm not a "PT voter".

You're completely lost.

Yes, because they're distinct methodologies. Dieese, for example, includes underemployment or part time jobs as unemployment. It doesn't mean IBGE is forging the numbers. For international comparisons, IBGE numbers are better as their methodology is more common worldwide.

Again, I'm a regular reader of Veja, Exame, Folha, Estadão, which cannot be accused of being "pro-government" and I've never read that Brazilian government was forging numbers for employment, inflation, economic growth, etc. It's only in your head, apparently.

BTW, you seem to believe in the numbers for economic growth for 2009 and 2011. So, when IBGE posts "bad numbers", you believe. When, they're "good", it must be a lie...

Are you serious?!?!?!

The first link is telling exactly what I'm saying to you: IBGE and DIEESE use distinct methodologies. It has NOTHING to do with forgery or whatever conspiracy theory you might believe. The second link has nothing to do with this discussion or this thread.

Are you serious?

IBGE is oficial
DIEESE unoficial (unemployment 10,5%, wage 1510 reais)

the second link; explains how the PT tries to control the media in Bahia. Relative i think

''Yuri dont listen to those kids.

That's because i once said that in Brazil we think peru (another shining example of a reliable country) is a turkey?

Go ahead you guys, if you want to believe in a government of one of the most corrupt countries in the world, from time to time trying to control the media, 8 years ruled by a mineworker, who became rich in those 8 years (some say even a billionaire), (The american ambassador quoted the Lula government as extremely corrupt), now since 1 year ruled by a government, where already SIX ministers stepped down in this year because of corruption, well i suppose the numbers they publish must be very, very trustworthy

I really lost it...

If it's construction you are into go elsewhere for the time being. But if you are skilled there is no shortage of skilled jobs in things like Pharmaceuticals or ICT and things like that. Most of the worlds largest companies in these areas have significant operations in Ireland that provide tremendous career opportunities. Alot of them have their European/Asian headquarters here and continue to invest. The lack of jobs in Ireland is primarily, though not exclusively, in the construction sector. Like I say if that's your area avoid. Otherwise if you are skilled Dublin is very attractive.
