Roundabouts (Traffic Circles)

This thread is created to bring awareness to everyone about the effectivesness of rotundas/roundabouts in easing traffic congestion, as an alternative to building more expensive, ugly and ineffective flyovers.

So do we have rotundas in the Philippines?

Wow, this photo is lovely. It's such a pity not to see the beauty of Manila in the 50's-60's.

Wow! nice pictures there folks! I could not imagine how ugly these intersections would be if flyovers were put here instead of these nice rotundas..

Keep them coming..

ahaha.. something was really wrong there. part of that rotunda has even been "sliced" to add more lanes in andrews avenue pero mukhang walang effect..

Yes that rotunda at Andrews seems to be not well planned. Also MMDA should tow away those vehicles parked along Manlunas st. close to the rotunda.

No doubt, Quezon Memorial Circle is the biggest we have in the country... I still have to find the smallest one.

Mahilig pala talaga ang pilipinas sa mga rotonda/roundabouts.

This is a good idea as an alternative intersection without building any traffic lights.

The aborted burnham plans for Manila where every major intersection is a roundabout:

Sadly, only the luneta area was built out of that grand plan. To think, Manila is supposedly the washington d.c. of the east..

Rotunda is good for low volume traffic. There is a classic case in Bunbury Western Australia
