Luka , don`t panic, I will post up Rangiora , after I have completed my trips
around the Nelson area. I have posted photos on other threads,
so I may repost a few on this thread, in an effort to keep them all together...

Nelson , a beautiful town , but with a strange clock tower and a Cathedral
tower that does the building no favours, minor dislikes of a very vibrant town..

Takaka , Golden Bay

To reach Takaka from Mapua requires a drive over a big mountain, but it is worth the effort, Golden Bay is truly beautiful......
Motueka Harbour......

Highway 60, the main road to Golden Bay.....

Small town of Takaka with many heritage buildings.....

Golden Bay..

Road south back to Rangiora...

Having driven up to the Nelson /Tasman area via Kaikoura and Picton, we returned south via the Lewis Pass using State Highways 6/65/7 & 1. Adistance of 400km. through some very wild and beautiful landscapes..

Just about the only sign of civilasation along SH6, is the small town of Murchison, a few shops and an excellent cafe, well worth a stop......

Banks Peninsula, Black Cat Cruise

Four years ago we went on a short cruise from Lyttelton, to try and see the Hector Dolphin, the smallest in the world, and only found in New Zealand waters. Did we spot any? NO. So we decided to try our luck again, this time from a delightful harbour town of Akaroa. And we hit the jackpot, not only the little Hectors showed up ,seals, shags and a couple of Albertrosses swooped around the boat, a superb site.......

Sea Birds and seals, resting...

Hector Dolphins, small and fast ,very difficult to see them.....

The magestic Albertross...........

A calm Pacific with a clear blue sky helped to make this cruise ,one to remember.

Akaroa Town

The town was busy, thanks to a large Cruise ship dropping anchor in the vast harbour.....

Some of my favourite places being showcased here.

It's a pity that despite being only an hour away, I rarely get to Akaroa. Can smell those fish and chips already mate.

Hey woody how are placed for a catch up Tuesday 27th? Would love to take up your offer on a visit to Pegasus.

Luka , Tuesday 27th is fine with us, see you then.

Akaroa is a fabulous little town, not sure about the fish and chips, following
todays fire at the main restaurant

City Mall & River Avon

The last time I walked through the City Mall was 2 years back when the impressive public realm had been completed, and I looked forward to seeing
the trams rumbling along this busy shopping street. Alas the quakes changed all that, so I was delighted to see the "STEEL CONTAINER " shops
and a revamped public realm bringing the shoppers back into the CBD......

My thanks to my good friend ....Luka, for a very interesting and entertaining afternoon

A return visit ,with the family, to have lunch on Oxford Terrace and a look
at the River Avon.....
