More specifically, the Bank on the right (197 Yonge Street) was formerly a four-floor Canadian Bank of Commerce building built in 1905 by architects Pearson and Darling.

According to Wikipedia - (205 Yonge Street) was formerly a four-storey Bank of Toronto building built in 1905.

This is an image of both the banks. The one on the left is owned by an Irish businessman and is sitting vacant. The bank to the right was bought by MOD Developments - Massey Tower will sit in the middle of these two structures.

Units in this building are going to sell like hot cakes. Toronto developers are really starting to concentrate more heavily on their designs. Good design sells and the developers get that now.

Official Plan and Zoning by Law Amendment application to permit the re-development of the lands for the purposes of a new mixed use building that includes the retention of the existing heritage building on the premises. Included in the proposal is a 60 storey, 207m high building containing retail uses in the retained heritage structure and 687 dwelling units above. 116 parking spaces to serve the development in an above grade parking deck will also be provided.
a new render from street level:

and a floorplan, showing a very interesting shape on the north side, which is oddly missing from the renders;

Work has started restoring the old bank building which will become the entrance to the tower.

75% sold as of 2 months ago. This surely will break ground soon.

Wow, it is stunning, classy lines and keeping the historic facades at the base will allow it to better fit in on a street level

The incorporation of this skyscraper into this area is amazing as well as the design!!!

I love the concept of keeping/protecting historic building

I love the integration of old with new. Retaining a link with the past while providing for the future. Great building.
