LONDON | O2 Dome Skywalk | Visitor Attraction

They're building a walkway over the top of the dome (a bit like that on the Sydney Harbour Bridge):

Wow, London is really going to town on the touristy things. I like this, I think a cable car is a bit too much though, sorry.

For the olympics, London is doing too much and trying to cram as much stuff in it appears. It is doing more than most other cities would do in this area, including Beijing. Calm down London, your city speaks for itself, no need to add too many tacky tourist traps that belong in fair grounds.

First wheel and bridge, now tower, cable car, roof walkway, what next? Don't you have better things to spend your money on?

Shouldn't there be like a fence on both sides of the walkway?

Anyway, great idea!

It's temporary.

The walkway will be 190 metres in length and will be 60 metres above the ground at its highest point. How utterly pointless. They'll probably charge you £8+ just to go and view cables, masts and surrounding overpriced apartments.

Tickets will cost just £22 for adults and children.

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable 90 minute experience which will take you on an uplifting expedition across the roof of the
world's most popular entertainment venue.

Enjoy spectacular 360 degree views of London from our viewing platform in the centre of the roof, before finishing with a thrilling descent back to base to complete your adventure.

What is Up at The O2?

Up at The O2 is a 90 minute experience which will take you on a guided expedition over the roof of The O2 via a fabric walkway. Suspended 3m above the surface of the tent the walkway is 53m above ground level and 320m long. At it’s steepest point the walkway has an incline of 30° on the way up and the way back down, and has a slight bounce to it to replicate the surface of the tent.

You must be both physically and medically fit to complete this activity. There will also be climbs available for people with disabilities.
Sounds great! but there's only one thing that bothers Me: "Tickets will cost just £22" ...well, for £17 I can go to the London Eye and have much more better views of the city than here. I guess it's the "thrill factor" with fabric walkway and that 30° incline what makes it so unusual.

Great idea! Though it was just temporary, it looks like just a design for the structure.
