It was smaller than I expected. I was only 20 feet away from you.

Yeah the new lighting scheme on Tower Bridge looks brill! By the way I think it would be best if we all went back on topic?

Back on topic, here's a daytime view of T42. You can make out the LED array.

Are they stationary images that it puts up, or are there some animations amongst the stills? (I'm not sure how restricted you'd be with a load of LED bulbs up there
)

They were using a moving image a few weeks ago - the 2012 olympics logo. Last night and again tonight it is just the still purple backgreound and the olympic rings.

That purple display looks pretty good - the only problem is it's fairly bright, and apart from the interior lighting and the aircraft warning lights, it's the only part of Tower 42 that's lit up. If they maybe put some sort of lighting down the side of the tower on the exterior steel columns, it might work slightly better.

In view of the nightly spectacle of Heron Tower's blue array, one likes to expect this addition to T42 will remain in use — albeit not to the same themed effect — beyond this summer's sporting occasion.

I was a little hesistant at the lighting scheme, but after seeing it for myself I'd definitely welcome its continuation.
