Valby is a part of the Copenhagen Municipality with around 48,000 inhabitants, but in its own big city way dominated by some of the biggest danish companies like Carlsberg, F.L. Schmidt, Lundbeck and Nordisk Film. many educations centre, a charming mix between an old inner city, almost like a province town, then the expensive villa neighborhoods, regulare typical 4-5 storeys blocks and a not so few mezzy industrial clondykes areas scattered around.
large railway tracks with fine transport connections and severels S-Stations, and last but not least, very large green areas like Valbyparken and Rosenhaven.

In terms of development, the inner city of Valby has changed a lot the last 10 years, and in a fine way with a great mix of new and old buildings with the open covered Spinderiet as a commerciel center.

Development is nowadays basically concentrated around Gl. Køge Landevej where housings are been constructed for the moment and the old FL.Schmidt site will be transformed for new office buildings, and on the opposite side of the road, the pharmaceutical Lundbeck extending their HQ.
Carl Jacobsenvej and the sites in front of the S-train station, Ny Ellebjerg is the largest construction area.

And between that site and the new residental area Valby Have another 88 housings are being constructed designed by Danielsen Architects. It's called Pontoppidanparken

The crashed 'Club Danmark Hallen' will be rebuild by the CPH. municipality.

I still get the goosebumps thinking what would had happen if it collapsed one day before it did. It was full of soccer playing kids. My own son has played there severels times..

6 apartments in 3 floors, and some shopping at ground floor. A wellknown name among the forumers, TK-Development is back..

Updates from Valby, starting at Gl. Køge Landevej where DFE seems to have started the excavation for the Valby Maskinfabrik office park.


Next the Pontoppidan park and DFE's housing's, both nearly completed.

Carl Jacobsenvej, the Urban House project, and quite bizaare the construction site totally empty, only the completed building base left.

A prominent worldclass architect has moved into one of the old buildings opposite the construction site, a guy called Bjarke Ingels and his BIG company

The gas tower will be demolished the coming sunday the 4th of november at 12.

Hafnia, for your info: the completed building base you mention is by Postfunktionærernes Andelsboligforening. They have a legal dispute with the contractor, I believe it will be finished by another contractor.

The Urban House project is a the moment a muddy pool behind this building, right next to railroad tracks (and I mean right next to).

They have been trying to sell the appartments for the past 6 months, without any success.

You really need to be a train fan to find the location attractive

Thanks to 84 mill dkr. and the municipality of CPH.,the Club Danmark Hallen is going to be renovated by Mangor & Nagel architects. It's old news though..

Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter has won a competition for the design 75 2-5 room apartments at Carl Jacobsens Vej. Commersial(retail space in the ground floor and possibilities for a café.

Direct on Carl Jacobsensvej, Vandkunstens and KAB's construction which is almost half of the whole one side of the street.






Still at Carl Jacobsenvej, small signs of progress at the site owned by Postfunktionærernes Andelsboligforening.


From the inner part of the old Valby, TK-Development is constructing this small property on a site which has been empty for a very long time.
It's positive that the developing company is still operating in the city.
