It appears they have bottomed out. The hole is massive!

That building next to it reminded me of Marina Twin Towers in Chicago, what's its name?

Oh, and I love that Mario Bros is witnessing this construction site from one of the Balconies.

Yes, I see the resemblance but ours is MUCH shorter and uglier haha

Our much more famous round towers are the Westin hotel towers. This is Tower 801.

I just happened upon this project and it looks very sharp! I'm not a hater of boxes as some of our fellow SSC's are but i don't like dull boxes. As boxes go, this one is pretty sharp! Way to go Seattle! Is this in a part of the city where it will impact the skyline from a distance or will it blend in with buildings of similar height?

It will definitely impact the skyline from a few angles. Its right on the edge of I-5 which splits the downtown section of the city.

It's on the edge of the main highrise district. There are some angles, barely, where it'll extend the skyline a little. But at 440' it'll be shorter than some others in the neighborhood.

Which brings me across the street to Olive 8, my favorite of the newer towers. Seattle needs more blue! So much great infill in this small area.

I know it really is, but the cladding doesn't seem to be affixed very securely.

Update. Some cladding has gone up!

So it's a hotel? So at least there were no inhabitants complaining about a new tower rising a few feet in front of their balconies.

No, I think you misunderstood me. Our more famous cylindrical towers are the Westin twins elsewhere in the city. That is Tower 801 and its residential.
