Darn right. Same with the three Amazon towers that are all limited to 500' plus a bit extra for minor variances.

Seattle is also full of 65' and even 45' districts in locations where some cities would put highrises...even where WE have highrises already.

I don't know the address, but its the recently revived one. I think its located near the Koolhaas Library and supposedly will include a hotel.

Seattle newcomer GID breaks ground on downtown 40-story apartment

Construction began this week on another high-rise apartment complex in downtown Seattle.
Boston-based GID Development Group is developing the 40-story project at 2030 Eighth Ave., across the street from where Amazon.com is building the first phase of what will be a 3.3-million-square-foot campus. This is GID’s first development here.
GID, a privately held company, tied up the Eighth Avenue property in 2011, before Amazon had revealed plans for its three-block development. But the online retailer was leasing space all around the site of GID's project, and GID President Jim Linsley knew that something would happen eventually on the under-developed properties where Amazon is building.
“The fact that it occurred in the very short term was very beneficial for us,” said Linsley.
Sellen Construction of Seattle is building the 355-unit, market-rate project designed to appeal to younger professional singles and couples. The first move-ins are scheduled for May 2015.
The apartment complex will have units ranging from studios to three-bedrooms. In addition, there will be 4,200 square feet of retail and 242 parking stalls.
“We already liked Seattle but we were particularly intrigued by this site because of its location,” Linsley said.
Downtown Seattle is expanding north, and growth from South Lake Union is spreading south. “We really see our site as being the connection between those two worlds,” said Linsley, who added his company is a long-term holder.
He declined to say how much the development will cost. Public records show GID last fall paid $13.4 million for the property, which came with the project plans.
Linsley said GID is “a very-well capitalized firm,” and is using its own equity for the Seattle project as well as providing the construction financing. But GID is exploring bringing third-party equity into the deal, he said.
GID has owned multi-family properties in Seattle. The company’s national portfolio includes around 20,000 residential units and 4 million square feet of commercial space. GID is developing projects in Denver, Houston and Atlanta.
GID is seeking more development sites in Seattle as well as San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Boston, and wants to invest in these places and elsewhere. “We are attracted to 24/7 gateway cities,” Linsley said.

This has been sort of underway since December with demo and some initial shoring. Now they're digging in earnest, and shoring in earnest.
