The news says that Mitsubishi plans to buy manila Seedling bank's property. dyan pa lang malabo na as foreigners are not allowed to own (100%) property here. They maybe planning to tie-up with the QC local govt. or proposing to build up the tower for the local government thru Japanese ODA (not with their own funds). Those japs conglomerates are looking for projects as construction business in Japan is bad.

Mitsubishi of course would want Tokyo Sky Tree to be the tallest and the tallest in the world to be in Japan and not in other countries. Well, just a thought.

I stand corrected. It appears Japanese corporations can own land in the Philippines under JPEPA. Check out this link: http://www.bilaterals.org/spip.php?rubrique113

A forum is a place where different sides could supposedly be heard, not just the sides you want to listen to.

Hmm, JPEPA allows Japanese ownership of land through its clause that states Japanese investors should be treated as national investors? It seems to violate the 1986 constitution, but it is a step forward (I think? I'm not sure) to Philippine market liberalization, and all the more makes this project more plausible.

everybody would be happy to have that tower, who wouldn't?, pero ni wala pa nga 'tong render kahit confirmation man lang, sabi nga sa news nito, interesado pa lang ang mitsubishi na bilhin yung property, so no final words yet... dapat nga dini-discuss lang 'to sa Quezon City Thread eh at hindi as a project already...

the essence of having a thread for a project is to discuss the project itself not to discuss a project that's still an imagination ...

another tower in Rizal???

Various privately-owned TV networks in the Philippines, as well as the Philippine government, various telecommunication companies, and private real estate companies would unite together in order to construct a DTTV tower together with a Japanese partnership only with consent, spending billions of pesos to buy materials as well as equipment and labor. The construction of future DTTV tower in Metro and Mega Manila for the next two to three years, according to my own thought through possible reliable source in the coming years, would be in a portion of mountainous areas in nearby town of either in Antipolo or in Jala-Jala, Rizal, or on the ground of Metro Manila area originally planned for the construction of PAGCOR Tower.

DTTV Tower @ 320m Manila Sky Tree

the problem with that is would generate revenues up to the break even level only. Why so? Because of its proposed remote location, tourists won't bother going there just to enjoy the view of the whole Mega Manila area. The most suitable location is the Manila Seedling. It is a central location. Just make the proposed observation and communication tower higher than Canton Tower and lower than Tokyo Sky Tree to make it the 2nd tallest tower in the world. If it does get that height, lalakas ang signal ng radio stations and TV stations
