Edinburgh - Castle pictures not included.

Edinburgh on a rainy November....

I wandered around Scotland's capital city late last year. Not all the pictures are the beautiful and they all could benefit from sunshine - but hey, you do what you can!!

1) St James Centre - due for demolition.

2) View from St James Centre.

3) HQ of Baillie Gifford fund managers.

4) St James Centre bridge.

5) From behind St James Centre - facing south.

6) St Andrew Square - Tiles bar.

7) Rose St - famous for it's pubs.

8) Bank of Scotland HQ

9) Bank of Scotland HQ 2

10) Victoria Street

Thanks for the feedback folks.

There are a few touristy views of Edinburgh (Castle, Calton Hill, Princes St, etc) that have been photographed a billion times and I have deliberately tried to avoid them. Going instead for more of a 'real Edinburgh' feel.

I'll post some more later....

I stay in Edinburgh for almost 2 months and I really like it. Especially old town with its small, narrow and dark alleys. You may don't like this city but you can't say that it haven't got a character.

Some more piccies....

Thanks for the reply Rombi. I have been all round the world to many cities and along with London Edinburgh is my favourite. Maybe it's because it's home? I took these pictures late last year and wanted to post things not usually seen.

Here are some more....

1) Middle Meadow Walk

2) Heriot's School (the inspiration for Hogwarts?)

3) Standard Life HQ

4) Recently finished office building

5) Scottish Widows HQ

6) New houses along the canal

7) A great wee pub

8) A typical New Town street

9) Great King Street

10) Abercrombie Place
